AUSTRALIA - SIGHTINGS OF
ANCIENT CREATURE
REPORTED - AFTER ATTACKS
NEAR GAWLER RANGE
Prominent Hill l A recent open pit
mining operation and crew have
unearthed an unknown creature of
gigantic proportions near the opal
capital of Coober Pedy, in the Far
North Region, giving rise to disputed
historical accounts of an unidentified
monster reported here in the
nineteenth century.
The strange creature described to be a
great, walking octopus was discovered by
several excavators working benches in the
lower portions of the Consolidated Lyell
Company's open pit mining operation.
Employees Paul Wiliby and Dan Sander
noticed a lumbering shape emerging from
an open subterranean vault several
hundred yards away and blew the warning
horn to halt the diggers, witnessing the
appearance of the 25 ton prehistoric animal
from its age-old hibernation.
"The giant monster must
have been about 30 feet
long, and standing as
high as one of our ore
hauling trucks, where we
could hear loud, roaring
hisses from the
opening," stated Mr.
Sander. "And when we
saw this great green
behemoth rising from the
ground, we could not
believe our eyes. The
horrid thing was of
indescribable size and
was like a walking
octopus. It was the most
terrifying creature to
ever walk the Earth!"
The Prominent Hill Mine is a major copper, silver and
gold mine in north west South Australia. The Gawler
Cration containing Mesoproterozoic sediments is nearly
2 billion years old. The region is thought to be the
remains of ancient continents that arose during the
Archeon Period after the Earth's creation.
Dr. Ian Comyn, of the Australian Geological
Univeristy, along with a team of scientists
have arrived at the mine to investigate the
sightings.
The type of description and the security
photo taken from the site are very similar
to the various fossil remains uncovered in
Greenland and Western Australia, but
science and biology disagree on far-fetched
speculation the creature could have
survived from this period.
"It seems quite possible
that this creature could
be an Archeon survivor,"
Dr. Comyn told officials.
"However, we have no
theories on what type of
animal this is, but it
astonishingly looks much
like an armored
cephalopod. The detailed
computer enhancements
have revealed it could be
an unknown class of
Cephalopoda. The
creature's physiology
seems very similar to
various types of early
fossils, many smaller
lifeforms which were
unearthed in post-
Archean Australian
shale."
Dr. Ian Comyn says the sighting is very similar to the
1894 Burgess-Kolinar photo which occurred during an
excavation in the billion year old Gawler Craton.
During the discovery of a petrified ruin this photo was
taken as a mysterious creature abruptly loomed into
view scattering the geological teams. Academics of the
period deemed the photo a crude scientific hoax.
Experts note the appearance of this
nameless monster near Prominent Hill is
strangely reminiscent of a similar sighting
seen on September 25, 1894 during a
geological survey on a remote strata of the
same Gawler Craton region.
The Burgess-Kolinar Incident was made
news by mention of the "A Commentary On
the Book of Gates" written in the 19th
Century by the famous Oxford Professor
Jebidiah Ethan Smith, an English abridger
of the "Book of Gates", a suppressed book
purporting to describe through his ancient
translating of records the history of the
Earth's first ancient races.
Quoting the 1868 First Edition of the
Commentaries, Daniel Burgess commented
that "Smith describes this massive creature
as originating from the Archean continent
he called Yidath. He then claims that
modern Cephalopoda as marine science has
classified them, were this monster's
surviving descendants. Several of these
commentaries honestly portray the
legendary creatures as primal biological
specimens. The Acttagno, as the
Commentary has named it has been
questioned by scientific circles the world
over." His notes then chronicle the events
which transpired after the creature fled the
region.
His report sparked a heated debate at
Camden University when Burgess opened a
conference with Smith's famous quote "As
more and more sightings are authenticated
then we must assert the existence of a
history unknown to our present
understanding."
A new report in the Sydney Telegraph
newspaper on 10 February 2018, mentions
that three patrolmen had seen the creature
attack the sub station in Lake Gairdner
National Park, near Port Augusta, and kill
the ranger. A fisherman later reported to
have seen it near Whyalla, and several
hunters sighted the creature again near
Iron Baron.
A few Australian reporters have even
suggested that the monster may be an
elaborate hoax, covering the fact the
sightings could be a tourist attraction.
Ministry of Science Palaeontologist, Barry
Fenner, reserved official statements on the
monster.
